Priority carried out an oil spill clean up under a historic property. The project involved removing 700 ton of contaminated soil mainly located under the footprint of the building. Excavation work involved removing approximately 9 feet of soil below the buildings footings down to bedrock. After the building was supported and contaminated soil removed, flowable fill was used for the majority of backfill. Priority did a cost comparison between placing and compacting aggregate, and installing flowable fill. Flowable fill was an expense and time saving option.
